The form of the RTT Tower once again illuminates the dark shadow it casts on the city. The inspiration one can draw from architecture is endless, like the concrete folds of ‘the bunker’ – The auxiliary of the telegraph and telephone center – which I wish I had designed myself. In 2020 we once and irrevocably had to say our goodbyes to the RTT Tower, the Belgacomtower or AC Portus. One of the largest brutalist architecture examples that Gent has to offer. It’s final months have been captured on 35mil film. A worthy parting with this brutalist icon in book form.
